Graduation Ceremony - Friday, June 11th, 2021

Our graduation ceremonies are scheduled for Friday, June 11th (with a rain date of Sunday, June 13th). * Subject to change based on Dane County Public Health Orders.

1:00 - Regent and Van Hise SLC's

4:30 - Highland and Ash SLC's

As part of our preparation for a socially distanced, outdoor graduation ceremony, we are limiting each student to 4 guests.  Please fill out the attached form to request the number of tickets your family will need.  It is very important that only one person from each family fill out this form. Seating is extremely limited and we need to account for every single person. Families will receive wristbands when they check in before their graduation ceremony - there will not be a ticket pick-up.

The ceremonies will be held outdoors at Mansfield Stadium.  Mansfield is located at Memorial High School, 201 S. Gammon Rd.

  • We are holding 2 ceremonies to allow for each graduate to invite up to 4 guests.

  • Students will be split into SLC’s for each ceremony.

  • Students and guests may begin arriving 1 hour before their ceremony. Students must arrive at least a half hour before their ceremony.

  • Each ceremony will last approximately 1.5 hours.

  • 6 feet distance between families will be required.

  • Masks are optional.

  • We thank you in advance for observing these Covid mitigation measures for everyone’s comfort and safety.

Procedure

Please check out this document and this video to get an idea of how things will work at graduation.

Caps, Gowns and Other Graduation Items

Caps/Gowns/Tassels/Stoles

We know that this pandemic has created significant financial hardships for some of our students and their families. That is why, for this year’s graduating class, MMSD will cover the cost of cap/gown/tassel/stole units for graduating seniors.

Ordering window officially closed on February 26th, but you can still submit your orders.

If you only want to order the free cap/gown/tassel/stole unit, please follow these steps:

  1. Click here for your official school store:  https://www.mwscholastic.com/2021-west-store (all other graduation supplies can be ordered at this link as well)

  2. Scroll down to the cap and gown box

  3. Click on the cap and gown image at the top of that page

  4. Fill out student height and weight (your gown is made to the dimensions you provide.  Please make sure this is accurate)

  5. Click: add to cart, then view cart, then checkout

  6. Fill in all fields on the checkout page. We MUST have:  Student name and school attending (bottom of checkout)

  7. Click continue, click place order

If you are interested in ordering any other graduation supplies, such as senior apparel, official school announcements, or party invitations, those items are available on our website. Here is more information on those offerings: https://www.mwscholastic.com/2021-grad-info-video. Please be aware that no refunds will be issued for any of these items.

We will have a delivery day at school for the caps, gowns, tassels and stoles, and class announcements, closer to graduation in the spring. We will email details of that delivery a week prior to that day. If you order a hoodie, joggers, long sleeve shirt or a sling bag, those items will be delivered to your home within 2-4 weeks. You will receive an email prior to that delivery.

If you are interested, you may also design your custom graduation ring here: https://www.mwscholastic.com/shop and click on "class rings".

Termination of MMSD Google Account

Access to your school district devices and accounts will expire on September 30, 2021.

This includes:

  • Your MMSD network login

  • Your district Google account (including email, calendar and docs)

  • District-owned and issued computers, stored data, appointments and messages

Every year there are alumni who contact us looking for content that they (and we) can no longer access, so please plan ahead! We’d hate to see you lose that award-winning project you worked on or research paper you wrote. You should be proud of your work, and I do hope you want to save some of it.

Prior to the last day of school, we recommend forwarding or saving important emails, critical documents, and shared resources. (For help saving your Google email and documents, please see these instructions.)

If you are still accessing your district network, emails, and Google services through summer, expect to receive automated emails reminding you to do this before September 30.

Looking forward to seeing you all walk across that stage this June. Finish strong! I know you can do it.

If you have any questions about this, please email techinfo@madison.k12.wi.us.
