Dear West Parents, Students, and Community Members,

I am pleased to announce that Jennifer Talarczyk (pictured on right) will transition from West's Program Support Teacher to interim acting Assistant Principal effective Friday, December 1st. Jen has been at West for 13 years and served as a Cross Categorical teacher, a Transition and Compliance Specialist, and held the role of Program Support Teacher for the past three years.  In addition to serving as the Principal of the Regent Smaller Learning Community, Jen will focus her efforts on the realignment of the Special Education program at West, as well as collaborating with the full administrative team on improving the effectiveness of our student support services.

Jen is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville for her MAT in Education, and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BS in Special Education.  She spent the early part of her career at Brodhead High School as a Cross Categorical teacher.

During her tenure here, Jen has worked tirelessly to ensure that our students with the greatest needs are fully supported.  She is committed to expanding this work and ensuring that all West students, both with and without IEPs, graduate on time with solid post-secondary plans for which they are fully prepared.

Throughout the year, I will be working closely with our team to search for a permanent Assistant Principal.  In the meantime, please join me in congratulating Jen on her promotion, and welcoming her to the West Admin Team.

Warm Regards,

Karen Boran, Ed.D.
