DECA is an organization for Marketing Students. DECA is an international association of high school and college students studying marketing, management and entrepreneurship in business, finance, hospitality and marketing sales and service. West DECA is very active in the community and the school. We are among the top chapters in the State when it comes to competition. Every year 18 - 25 students qualify for the International Career Development Conference.

22 students from Madison West DECA competed at the State Career Development Conference March 10-12 in Lake Geneva. Students competed in business plans, advertising campaigns and role play situations. In total, 14 have advanced to the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, FL April 24-29.
This year's DECA District Career Development Conference took place in Sun Prairie on January 10, 2015. 60 students (photo below) from West High School competed against students from around the area in business and marketing related fields. Participants took an exam and participated in two role plays. West will have 21 students represent our school at the State Career Development Conference in March with aspirations of advancing to the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, FL.
In early November, 11 DECA students (pictured below) attended The Emerging Leaders Conference in the Wisconsin Dells. This conference was attended by over 500 Wisconsin DECA members. Students had the opportunity to attend workshops to develop leadership skills, a better understanding of DECA competition and network with members from around the state.
