We are looking forward to continuing to celebrate and honor our seniors. As you know, WISC-TV/Channel 3 will be airing a special commencement broadcast for each of the MMSD high schools. West High’s virtual graduation ceremony will air on Saturday, June 13th at 8:00 pm. It will air on WISC-TV/Channel 3.
Prior to the first MMSD ceremony on Friday, June 12th, News 3 Now will have a special broadcast; New 3 Now: 2020 Graduation from 6:30-7:00 pm. If you don't have cable, there are other ways to view the broadcast. Each ceremony will also stream concurrently with the television broadcast on channel3000.com. In addition, all of the high school graduations will re-air as a 4.5-hour block on Sunday 6/14 from 11:30 am-4:00 pm on TVW, Digital Over-the-air channel 3.2, Charter Cable 14, and Direct TV channel 14. The digital billboards will be scrolling pictures of our graduates from 6/8 - 6/21. The east side one will be the digital billboard on the Beltline by the Rimrock Road Exit. Interested in Speaking at Graduation?
Graduation speeches were due on May 15th and can no longer be submitted.
Each year we have two students speak at graduation. This is an important part of the ceremony, as the class hears two classmates reflect on four years at West, the moment, and the future. Speeches can be no longer than three minutes in length. If you are interested in auditioning to be a graduation speaker, please complete the following steps:
Email Mr. McGrath, letting him know you are interested in auditioning
Email video of you delivering your speech to Mr. McGrath by Friday, May 15 at 4:00 pm email@example.com. This deadline is final. The two speakers selected by the committee will go to WISC TV during the week of May 18 to record their speeches for the ceremony.
Submissions for the memory slideshow were due on May 17th and the form has been closed.
We are asking for one photo per senior that shares a favorite memory with your classmates. The plan is for this photo to be part of a video montage shown during the ceremony. When selecting, please consider the following:
-West High School Moment
-Only Seniors Pictured
-School/Public Television Appropriate
Understand we will be unable to use photos if they do not meet these guidelines.
For clarity, this is not the request for your individual photo to be viewed with your name. This is an additional photo to be used in a memory montage.
The due date for these is Sunday, May 17th by midnight.
Submit a photo on this form.

The prom interest survey has been closed.
We would like to gauge interest in a virtual prom. Please fill out this form to let us know if you would participate! If there is interest, we would plan to secure a DJ to play on a social media platform for an hour or two on "prom night" - likely Saturday, May 16th. You would participate by planning a virtual gathering with your friends to dance and hang out (either via Zoom, HouseParty, etc).
SCHOOL EMAIL ACCOUNTS
Senior student email accounts and Google accounts will deactivated after graduation. Seniors should make sure to move and save all information they want to keep. Read the Instructions to Save MMSD Google Items Upon Graduation for more information.
All colleges and universities require a final transcript to be submitted after 2nd semester grades are submitted and finalized. Seniors can take care of that step right now by logging into your parchment account:
West-specific parchment landing page: https://www.parchment.com/u/registration/25911/account
Select “hold for grades” and your transcript will automatically be sent once semester grades are finalized in June.
Reminder that counselors do not send transcripts, it is the student’s responsibility to request them via parchment
